Engine management light illuminated after brake change

I changed the brake pads on a Mazda6 2008 2.0d sport and after this the engine management light came on. Would this have anything to do with changing the pads or is it sumthing else? It has 72,000 miles on the clock.

You might have disturbed something else, but I doubt it. Think coincidence.
