Rapid Tyre Wear on my Ford S Max Titanium X Sport
I have a 2011 Ford S Max 163 sport shift Titanium X Sport.
It's a motability vehicle. My question is what is the acceptable millage to expect from a set of tyres?
Mine has done 30K and has just had the 4th set of fronts fitted and has the 3rd set of rears on it.
It started on Michelins and is now on Continentals which last even less time! About 4K in fact!
I love the car and was going to buy it but can't afford to replace tyres like that.
The tyre supplier is Kwik fit and I have had the suspension and tracking checked and double checked by both Kwik fit and My dealer Days Ford In Plasmarl in Swansea. They have been a really great Ford Dealer.

Might need a 4 way laser alignment. But the problem is likely to be the wheel and tyre size. The whole point of fitting cars like this with 18" or 19" wheels and tyres is that the tyres are very expensive and don't last long, so the tyre manufacturers sell them to Ford cheaply, then treble their money on expensive replacements. Go down to 16" wheels and 205/60 R16s and you'll find they last much longer.
