Buying a replacement for my Jaguar X-TYPE

I bought my X-TYPE Jaguar 2.5S in 2005, and have had total reliability since. It's a delightful car to drive except for the four-wheel drive system, which gives horrendous mpg. In the near future, I will be thinking of changing to a similar car (around 12 months old) with good quiet performance and costing no more than £15,000.

Can you suggest what I should buy? Now retired I travel about 5000 miles per year.
