Sudden loss of drive

Help! My 2001 Ford Mondeo 2.0-litre Duratec suddenly lost drive. I can select every gear without using the clutch, with the engine running! Could this be just a broken clutch plate, or something more costly like a damaged gearbox, driveshaft or dual mass flywheel? Anyone had this same problem?

This model petrol and diesel all had dual mass flywheels so that could well be the problem.
