Low budget for long commute - what should I get?

Can you suggest a car for a commute of about 90 miles a day? I don't want to spend more than £1500? Quite happy to change after a year or so.

£1,500 can bring delight or disaster and I cannot pinpoint which makes and models are most likely to be the former. But generally it seems to be a Fiesta 1.25 or a Yaris 1.0 or 1.3.
