After a used car on a budget of £4K?

I've a budget of £4K and looking for a car that would be suitable for around 24000 miles per annum. Also needs to have enough space for a peak, two children and occasionally the family dog. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Probably a Kia Cee'd 1.6 CRDI or a Hyundai i30 1.6 CRDI, but both will soon be out of warranty and parts costs are relatively high. The other way to go is something cheap to repair like a Ford Fiesta 1.6 diesel or a Fusion 1.6 diesel or a Corsa 1.3 diesel, but it's likely to need more repairs. £4k does not buy guaranteed reliability for 24k miles a year.
