Is a warranty void if it has been serviced by an unapproved garage?
A recent reader wrote saying that Mercedes had turned down a Warranty claim because the car had been serviced at an Independent garage.
My understanding was that provided the service was to the recommended standard using genuine parts the warranty was still valid.
I have always used Hart Motors, Dalmuir, Glasgow who follow the service to the record and enter the details on the Mercedes Benz database. I found them on the Mercedes Owners Forum and have found them excellent.

Your understanding is incorrect. If the servicing garage has departed in any way from the schedule laid down by Mercedes then the warranty is void, as it should be. You can't guarantee something after any old Tom, Dick or Harry has fiddled with it.
