New car has no day time running lights
I am very confused regarding the EU directive on DRL. My daughter has just taken delivery of a new (62) vehicle in standard trim with Halogen headlights. The Bi-Xenon upgrade comes with LED DRL. Meanwhile her car has non whatsoever not even the basic low wattage 12v as on Polos and Golfs. I have had, as yet, no response from the DfT or Audi if the vehicle is road legal? Can you throw some light (no pun intended) on the matter?

That's because the directive only applies to new models introduced from January 2011. It does not apply to models that were existing before that date.
