Engine swapping?
I own a 1997 VW AWD sharan with 2.8 engine. I am thinking of replacing the engine and auto transmission units with newer VW engine and transmission unit. Is it possible to put in a VW 2.0 TSI engine with DSG transmission to this car?

No. And it would be ridiculously expensive to even try. Far more sensible to simply sell the 2.8 and buy a later 1.9 TDI 115 or 130 with the 5-speed Jatco autobox.
