Which wheels and tyres can we go down to?
We currently have low profile run flat tyres - front 215/40 rear 245/35. We find the ride most uncomfortable on the worst county roads in the midlands as recently stated by the BBC. I am nearing to change the tyres. Are there any alternatives recommendations that you can suggest?

You will do. Unless the car is extremely powerful, these are ridiculous wheels and tyres for this car. Depending on engine size you might be able to go down to 16" wheels with 205/60 R16 tyres.
