XJ won't change out of park
The gear shift is stuck in park on my Jaguar XJ and won't release to find any other gears. An audible tone rings out when I try to engage another position. Can you help please?

The switch from the footbrake or its connection will be broken so the lever does not know you have your foot on the brake.
