In response to a recent question about the Focus C-max automatic transmission (20th May), you said "This is the nightmare transmission. Only about 300 still on the road.The problem is that the torque output of the engine exceeds the capacity of the transmission, which is why they break. If yours has not actually broken you are very lucky."

Well it would seem that I am one of the 300 still around, so would it be a good idea for me to sell the car before the transmission breaks? Is there anything I should be looking out for?

The only problem I have seen is when pulling away from a standing start. There is usually a delay between pressing the accelerator and the car actually moving, although it has been like this from new.
