Ford automatic problems

Am looking to buy a used Ford automatic, either a Focus or C-Max. Have been told that that are two types of autos made and one causes a lot of problems and to steer clear. Any advice please?

Avoid the CVT auto fitted to Focus and C-Max 1.6TDCIs. 4-speed torque converter auto fitted to 1.6 and 2.0 litre petrol engines okay. Getrag Powershift twin clutch box fitted to late first shape C-Max 2.0TDCIs okay.
