DPF not fitted as standard on 2009 Volkswagen Golf
In your recent reply to my question over my car having a DPF fitted, you replied it most probably did have one.
So I emailed my VIN number to VW and my 1.9dci, 09 reg Golf plus is not fitted with a DPF as stated below from the horses mouth (VW), my only concern now is the dual mass flywheel, is there an access whole through which I can pass an inspection camera to check on its condition or look for bits in the bell housing as it brakes up or is that not what happens?
"Thank you for your recent contact requesting your vehicle specification. Please accept my apologies for the delay in my response.
I can confirm that your vehicle is not fitted with a DPF and that the mark 5 Golf is built at the Wolfsburg Factory.
I hope this information proves useful. Thank you for contacting Volkswagen UK."

Signs of a failing DPF are poor starting because the starter ring is not engaging properly, slipping (similar to a slipping clutch), nasty noises, and jerking. I can't imagine what you would be able to see through an inspection hatch, if there is one. A 2009 Mk V is late registered. Must have been one of the last.
