Misfiring Vectra - what's the problem?

There's a problem with my Vectra SRI - it has developed a misfire from 3500rpm in third gear, at which point I get the 'car with a spanner' light and the little engine light come on the dash.

I have replaced the cam sensor and the crank sensor, the HP pump and the coil pack, including the plugs, but still no joy. I have had the car on a diagnostics system and it has stored no fault codes.

Well check to see if you have Bosch ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor fitted, if so then check the Harness multi plug connection as this tends to come loose due to vibration.

If not that and you cannot find a fault code then check the following
1. Air Filter (last time it was changed)
2. MAF (mass air flow) sensor
3. MAP (manifold absolute pressure ) sensor
4. ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor
5. Fuel filter (last time it was changed)
6. HO2S (heated oxygen ) sensor
7. IAT (intake air temp) sensor

You don't say how many miles the engine has done but if you are up near 100k then the injectors may need servicing.
