Bought a car and the and the DMF has failed
We have a 2005 Peugeot 307 Diesel. The car was brought recently with a 3 month warranty. Within 4 weeks and less than 1000 miles the DMF has failed. The selling garage are trying to argue it is a wear and tear item i.e. a clutch.
I argue opposite that it is a main component of the drive chain, it should not have happened and they should stand with me for the cost of repair circa £700.
The evidence shows the clutch plate to be in serviceable condition with no sign of overheating brought about by slippage.

If you bought this from a dealer then a small claims judge will almost inevitably find in your favour and will either award you the cost of the repair or the coast of the car (assuming it was less than £5,000).
