Dual mass flywheel

My car is currently in pieces and has been diagnosed with a failed DMF and a damaged clutch as a result of this failure.

Repair has been priced at £1,030.

I have only had the car 8 weeks. It was purchased used with a full Saab history and a 12 month warranty, the warranty company are stating it's wear and tear and won't cover it.

The dealer, which is not a Saab dealer, has stated they will as a good will gesture pay half of the bill. Should they cover the total cost due to the short ownership period?

It is a 2006 car with 56k on the clock.

The dealer you bought it from is compelled by law to cover it if the warranty he sold you with the car will not. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
