Faults found within a week of purchase
I bought a Mondeo in January and when a week later found the DMF was worn. I informed the Garage who took it back and stated it was a Tiebar not the DMF and replaced it. When I drove away it was still the same and after having it independantly checked over it was confirmed by the Garage to be the DMF. I tried to have it it repaired on RAC Warranty but they told me that it would have been worn at the time of purchase and would'nt repair it. The Garage where I bought the car acknowledge it was noisy at the time of purchase but not "broken down". Should they have a duty to repair or refund after only a week?

The garage has a duty to repair it or give you your money back. Nothing to do with the warranty provider because the car had the fault when sold. Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
