Revs rise between gear changes 'up'
I bought from new recently a 61 plate Hyundai i10 active (this is a 'facelift' model with kapp2 engine)
Great little car as you have so often pointed out but a particularly annoying 'feature' (affecting others too, I note from hyundai forums) is that when changing up gears, the engine revs rise momentarily by about 400-500rpm, before dropping off.
I have never experienced this in a car before and makes for erratic driving, especially when changing between 1st and 2nd. It does this throughout the gear range and rev range, presumably wasting fuel.
The workaround I employ is to lift my foot fully off the accelerator and pause for a second before then depressing the clutch to change up.
Its like there is an overrun on the engine management.

It's to keep emissions down by more completely burning the mixture when the engine is relatively cold.
