Speeding
I think that I have been clocked doing just under 70mph in a 50mph zone. What are the likely penalties - would it be a standard £60 and 3 points or more?

As far as I know you should be okay for a fixed penalty:
Limit Fixed Penalty Summons
20 mph 25 mph 35 mph
30 mph 35 mph 50 mph
40 mph 46 mph 66 mph
50 mph 57 mph 76 mph
60 mph 68 mph 86 mph
70 mph 79 mph 96 mph
Current Fixed penalty of £60, Licence endorsed with 3 penalty points. Summons penalty Magistrate’s discretion. Maximum of: £1,000 fine + £15 victims support, Licence endorsed - range of penalty points available, Disqualification, Compulsory re-testing.
