Display of tax disc
Is there a legal requirement to display a tax disc in the lower near-side corner of the windscreen? I have received a fixed-penalty notice for 'Tax-disc obscured' when it was in full-view on the TOP near-side of the winscreen.

You can go to court and have it overturned. The law is Section 33 Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994. The exact requirement is: "The licence shall be fixed to the vehicle protected from the weather and clearly visible in daylight from the nearside of the road and exhibited: Vehicles with windscreens extending across the front of the driver to the nearside - on or adjacent to the nearside of the windscreen."
