My daughter bought a car from a main dealer very shortly afterwards she took the car in for a noise under the manufacture warranty. It was found to be a worn shock absorber, the car had done approximately 30,000 miles.

Peugeot rejected the claim saying it was fair wear and tear and my daughter subsequently paid for a replacement.

Someone has since said that because she had purchased the car less than three months previously from the main dealer they were responsible even if the manufacturer claimed fair wear and tear, is that correct?
