Less is more
Recently my Ford Mondeo was written off in a hit and run accident. To lower my insurance I purchased an older Renault Clio 1.2. To my astonishment, my insurance company, eSure, quoted very little difference in premium. I have full no claims discount and accident protection and am a mature drive covering 4-5,000 miles per annum.

That might be because the claim makes you a greater risk and has increased your premium to the same level as it was with the Mondeo. NCD protection does not protect you against this.
