Second helping
My wife wants to buy a vehicle with the following attributes: 5 doors, comfortable enough for 4 people on a long journey, preferably standard or optional 4x4, not an SUV but something that is a little higher off the road than a standard car, mileage unlikely to exceed 6k a year (second family car), price ideally no more than £10k. I would add to the preferences petrol rather than diesel, manual rather than auto and chain rather than cambelt - but these are secondary thoughts. Your ideas would be much appreciated.

A Subaru Legacy or Outback or a Skoda Octavia Scout. All belt cam, unless you can find an early Legacy diesel, which is chain.
