Thanks to Autoglass for a quick repair after my car was broken into.

I read the letter ‘Pane Relief’ about Autoglass. Whilst I am not in a position to comment on their charging, I am able to commend them on their service. A year or so ago my car was broken into in the car park of a Leeds hotel, the junkie Herbert breaking the passenger side front window in the hope of stealing my satnav from the glove box. He didn't - it was locked in the boot. That evening at about 7pm Autoglass came and fitted the replacement, which was all done by the time I returned from dinner. I had feared that I might have to deal with the window by covering it with polythene for my journey home down the motorway, but Autoglass's excellent service sorted me out.

Many thanks for your email that gives a counterpoint to the numerous complaints about Autoglass. I was quoted £560 for a screen, so I went elsewhere.
