NatWest Super Scare - insurance renewal question
Renewal premium from my insurers, NatWest, has increased by 78%. Do you have views on the advisability of including ‘No Claims Discount Protection’. My quote includes 9 years + no claim discount. I used to work for NatWest and previously my insurers premiums had been more than competitive in recent years. I am aged 77, second named driver my wife.

It's difficult to see what NCD Protection protects you from. If you are involved in a claim, most insurers now increase your base premium whether you have NCD protection or not. They argue that an increase in base premium due to a claim is different from a protected no claims discount. Like most people, I find that very difficult to swallow.
