Thanks for your help with my Auto Protect warranty - the company has agreed to deal with my claim.
I promised I would let you know the outcome of a warranty issue I had with Auto Protect after being mis-sold the wrong level of warranty by the supplying car dealer. I wrote to Auto Protect to get the cost of providing the full Premier Plus warranty (and also complained about the offhand attitude of its claims department) explaining why I needed the information. Auto Protect's Compliance Officer then requested copies of my policy documentation plus my service records for the car. I heard today that Auto Protect agreed I had been given the wrong level of cover by the dealer, has now instructed the dealer to issue me with a Premier Plus policy and has agreed to deal with the current claim. Very many thanks HJ for your invaluable advice.

Extraordinary. Because 10 seconds ago I answered an email from another reader whose claim on his Auto Protect policy to rectify a failed gearbox was rejected due to "wear and tear". Auto Protect's "wear and tear" exclusion seems to exclude virtually every claim.
