Potential problems with a high-mileage Qashqai?
I am considering buying a 08-plate Nissan Qashqai 2.0 dCi Tekna with 86,000 recorded miles. The high mileage is not a negative, as I only cover 5-6,000 miles annually, and I have read that this is a strong engine.
However, I also read that there have been incidences of timing chain failure, and you suggest there are particulate filter problems. My daily commute is only 4 miles - some on dual carriageway. Is this a sound purchase?

I have not heard of timing chain issues with this Renault engine. Unlikely to be DPF problems with a car that had been used so much. But the DPF could be nearing the end of its life. 4 miles here and 4 miles back will not regenerate it.
