Insurance - why should I be out of pocket?
I had a rear end no fault accident. I paid £2750 for the car and only had it for 3 weeks. The insurers have written the car off as a class C and offered me £2250 in settlement.
I have complained and not accepted. They will not improve the financial offer but now say I can keep the car. The best scrap value I can obtain currently is £200, still leaving me with a £300 loss.
I thought the whole ethos of insurance was to restitute me to the position I was in prior to the occurance. Obviously not! Where can I go for redress?

The insurers will not compensate you for having paid too much for the car.
