Decreased value after an accident
I had an accident, £6K of damage to my 1 year old car.
Repairs done well and no visible difference to the car. The other driver's insurance have agreed I was not at fault and offered me my £100.00 excess as full and final settlement. I think they should reimburse me for reduction of value of the car and for the 17 hours that it took to get the matter sorted out. I have not cashed their cheque or replied yet.
How much less is my £20,000 car worth when I sell it, because of the accident damage?

Forget the 17 hours, but yes, have the car valued. I think you can reasonably ask for up to 10% diminution in value.
