Insurance for new drivers

Now you have kindly sorted my tow car choice, (brilliant!) my next problem is 2 teenagers (18, male, 17 female) both wishing to learn to drive.

We have a Fiesta Finesse 1.3 which my wife and I both drive, but to add my son on as a learner the cheapest quote so far is an extra £1000.

Would an insurance company wear 2 adults and 2 learning teenagers on 1 policy? Should we sell the Fiesta to buy a more insurance friendly car?

You can do that but would have to make sure that both adults actually regularly drove the car otherwise it would be considered as 'fronting'.

Quinn Direct offers low premiums to supervised learners, but increases them hugely once the learner has passed because of the hugely increased risk of them driving unsupervised.

Various black box schemes seem to be best. But, of course, everyone driving the car is monitored, not merely the youngsters.
