What very comfy, quiet motorway cruiser do you suggest?

Due to a chronic health condition I am going to have to trade in my BMW 520d M Sport as the seat is too low and the ride is too firm for me these days. With a budget of £20k, can you recommend any cars that I can go and test drive that will give me comfort, a decent drivers seat height for getting in and out, but still has some performance? I will use the car to drive to France as well as to North Norfolk, so would like something quiet and very comfortable.

If you are considering another saloon then we would suggest the Volvo S90 or Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but if you need something taller for easy access we would suggest the Volvo XC90. Specification is important, so we would advise looking for versions with non-sport suspension, so avoid AMG Line specifications in Mercedes and R-Design in Volvo.
