Replacing a Rav-4 with a dodgy clutch
I have a Toyota RAV-4 SWB (3-door) 2.0 litre diesel XT3 D-4D. It has done approx 56,000 miles and it was purchased as a used vehicle from Lookers Toyota, Romford.
However, it now needs a new clutch as it is slipping badly. However, Lookers rang me the other week and asked me to go in and look at the new/used Toyota RAVs they have and I was honest with them and told them that my clutch needed replacing.
Anyway I went in and I am not keen on the new RAVs and I always liked my SWB model because I thought it was quirky and different. They are offering me part-exchange on models and I really don't know what to do. On the Toyota used website a couple of 55-reg model SWB models have come up but not with as low a mileage and are about £8-9,000 each. However one does have a sun-roof which I do miss on my current one! Could you give me some advice please, I haven't yet looked into how much the replacement clutch plus labour is going to cost - would it be worth me doing a part exchange on either a newer model 5 door or a similar SWB model?
Also if they part-exchanged without the clutch being fixed what should I expect, or should I just keep it and get the clutch replaced?
I know you are quite a fan of these, so your advice would be great.

Your clutch and DMF will be about £1,000 - £1,500. The current Suzuki Grand Vitara SWB looks like your model of RAV-4 and may be the way to go.
