Electric window bypass

I do not like electric windows but have had to buy a car with them in front.

Is it possible to control them without the key in, with some sort of additional button or rewire job?

It is infuriating to be in the car with no key and unable to wind windows. (And the boot has no push button opening but that is another problem)

Also I have an irrational (I hope) fear of being trapped inside the car with non-working electric controls, but that I can fix with a little fire hammer in the glove box with which to smash a pane.

Not sure why you would be in the car without the key??.
It would be possible but would require a skilled vehicle electrician to put in a rewire so that you could operate the windows without the key.
The cost may put you off.

The passenger electric window is not working, but the drivers one is, would this be the motor or is there a seperate fuse and could the switch itself be a common fault?
