Fiat 500 stop start failure
I bought a new Fiat 500 twin air on the 18 June. With 327 miles on the clock, the car broke down, was recovered after a 2 hour wait & the stop/start sensor was duly found to be the cause of the problem & replaced. I was without the car for a week & supplied with a courtesy car in the interim.
Just over 200 miles and 5 days after the car was returned, I broke down again. Another 2 hour wait later I was again recovered and as I type this, I am waiting for the verdict on the breakdown which I am surmising is the same as before since the same fault message appeared, stop/start unavailable.
At what point and after how many breakdowns, is it deemed a car is not fit for purpose and I can return the car ask for my money back? I have lost faith in the reliability of the car which with just over 500 miles on the clock and not even a month old has broken down twice. More alarmingly, yesterday I drove 70 miles on the M62 motorway over the Yorkshire moors - I don't even like to ponder the idea of having had this failure in the 2nd lane in heavy traffic.....

Three times. If it fails for a fourth time you can reject the car to the dealer for a full cash refund.
