Starter motor issues
My car started making noises and shuddering when switching on the engine. The garage said it was the starter motor but not to worry as these can be difficult to replace. The noise really concerns me but the garage don't seem concerned. Are they right to not worry? They told me this was common in my model of car although she never used to make such as noise! I don't want a noisy car and ideally would like this fixed. Is it as big a job as they make out and potentially expensive? My car has since started to make other vibrating noises whilst driving and as you can imagine, I'm reluctant to take it back to be told similar things.

Damaged starter ring on the flywheel. Well over £1,000 to replace.
