Replacement flywheel

Bought a new Tiguan in October 2010, current mileage 10,104 and I have just had a flywheel replacement under warranty.

I hope this will not ber a regular occurance! I am concerned. Is there anything I should do to protect my position? My dealer says there is no history of this problem but I am unsure because there was a previous problem I had with the earth wire breaking off, and I have since learnt that there was a recall for the problem some time ago. I feel you or your colleagues may have better knowledge.

Also, I need to say thank you for the reader advice which I took advantage of. I purchased a Merc SL 320 with 147,000 miles on the clock. What fun I have had with it! Thanks again.

Originally, Tiguans had a torque converter autos rather than DSG so did not need a DMF. But manuals and DSGs do. The trouble with with DMFs was due to the electric parking brake failing to release, giving the DMF a very hard time.
