Second hand family car
Many thanks for your help on buying my last car. I have a £5k budget and I have no prejudice against any particular car maker; I do however require plenty of interior space and an automatic transmission.
I have two growing children so space is required for the occasional trip with luggage and bikes etc.
I have very little knowledge of cars but read you column most weeks in the Saturday Telegraph.

Hard to beat a Mondeo Mk III 1.8 or 2.0 automatic estate, but make sure the swirl flaps have been removed from the inlet manifold.
