How do I get an abandoned car removed?

Someone we know asked to park their car on my driveway with a SORN for 2 weeks. Six months have now passed and the car is still there. We want the car removed but have no key and the battery is flat. I have asked them again to move it within 3 days but have had no response. What can we do to get it removed if they don’t respond?

We would suggest writing to the owner and informing them that if the vehicle is not collected within a time period you decide it will be reported as abandoned. If the vehicle is still not collected, you can report it to your local authority using the goverment service here: www.gov.uk/report-abandoned-vehicle The local authority will then attempt to contact the owner to inform them that the vehicle will be removed.
