Waiting six months for my S-MAX
Hello, we ordered an S-MAX in September 2010 and paid a deposit in 02-10-10 at GATES of Dunmow Essex.
When we ordered it we were told it would be before Christmas 2010, and we agreed on that.
However it has gone on and on and on with lie after lie after lie.
At one stage we were told it had left Dagenham, after being delivered to the UK and was on a transporter for 2 weeks, driving around the country!
It's been here there and everywhere, or so they say
When we ordered it we told the manager, Mr Winterbotham, that we were NOT prepared to pay anymore money than was on the new vehicle order, and he fully understood this.
The total price including VAT is £34,000, plus another £300 for a three-year servicing prepaid deal.
Now, because of the delays, the cost they say is now more because of the VAT.
We are not prepared to pay more than £34,000 for a car that has taken 6-7 months.
The dealer blames Ford, Ford blames the dealer.
I have spent £ 34,000 on a car been lied to constantly for 5 months and now, because its late, I am expected to pay the £800 increase in VAT.

That is plainly ridiculous.
Cancel the order. Demand the return of your deposit (and sue for it using www.moneyclaim.gov.uk if necessary) citing breach of contract.
Then simply go out and buy the car that you need from stock.
Try www.drivethedeal.com to see how quickly they can get you one.
Check with www.motorpoint.co.uk as to whether they have one in stock.
No reason not to consider a used example to tide you over.
There are now some used Galaxy 2.0TDCI 6 speed automatics coming off the Addison Lee fleet.
