How often should I change the automatic transmission fluid in my car?

My BMW 328i has done 66,000 miles and as it’s now 10 years old I wonder whether I should arrange for the automatic gearbox to have an oil/filter change?

BMW say this unit is 'sealed for life' but our understanding of that is that it means 100,000 miles so that would be our suggested figure.
