I need an economical 4x4 for towing - what do you suggest?
What's the most economical and cheapest to run SUV 4x4? I want the versatility of about town (driving short mileage) as well as being able to tow my horse locally. I would not need anything more than 2.0-litre as will only tow one horse.

We would suggest the Kia Sportage with the later 1.6 diesel engine with the mild hybrid system, as it can tow 1400kg but has an official combined consumption figure of 57.8mpg, and in our Real MPG guide owners are getting an average of 40mpg and above. The two-wheel-drive version is even more economical.
