Can I use winter tyres in Summer?

You have previously suggested having two sets of tyres, Winter and Summer. I accept that winter tyres will not last as long as summer tyres, but as I am a low mileage driver could I just replace my Summer tyres with Winter tyres and run Winter tyres throughout the year?

Actually winter tyres wear less than summer tyres during the winter. Winter tyres are not suitable for year-round use, but you can get 'all weather' tyres with the mountains or snowflake symbol and they are a compromise between Winter tyres and Summer tyres that can be used all year. Bridgestone A001 is an example.
