Economical second hand cars

What are the most economical second cars you recommend? I don't want to spend more than £3000 if possible. The car will mainly be used for journeys up to 10 miles.

FIAT Panda 1.1, Citroen C1, Peugeot 107, Toyota Aygo. Could consider an older diesel but these are generally more trouble.
