Vaux all?

I am looking to buy a new or nearly new estate car to replace a Vauxhall Omega. I am considering the Toyota Avensis, the Ford Mondeo and the Vauxhall Insignia. I will buy a 2.0 diesel version of the car I finally choose. How would you compare these for value, quality, driving experience and economy?

The Insignia is a good looking estate. More roomy then the saloon, but not a very practical load carrier because of its restricted rear aperture. The Mondeo is far roomier. But the Avensis has smooth, lively and very economical 1.8 and 2.0 litre petrol engines that are arguably better than the diesels. The latest big estate to arrive is the Skoda Superb.
