I have owned a 1997 Nissan Micra 1.0 5-door for nine years and 92,000 miles. As a part-exchange it is worth pennies. I am wanting to use the scrappage scheme. From the test drives undertaken I really like the Mazda2 1.3 TS2 5-door. I am a cash buyer with approx £7,500. Since I only do 10000 miles I was looking at petrol. Should I consider diesel? Does B.H.P. make that much difference e.g. 75 compared to 86? I want reliability and versatility, not much. I do mostly short journeys, also motorway driving occasionally.

The Mazda 2 1.3 TS2 is a smashing little car. Eager, fun, economical and a good cruiser. Tested at www.honestjohn.co.uk Yes it is worth going for the extra power of the TS2. For your type of use, diesel is not appropriate.
