I have owned my Audi A4 Sports since 10,000 miles and it was warranted until the end of March 2009. At 25,000 miles, in April 2008, I started noticing a hesitation when pulling away from stationary, albeit intermittent, but enough to nearly drop me in the cart a number of times. I reported it to my main dealer, Poole Audi, who took it in but could find no fault. However it continued and became more extreme but still intermittent. It went back to Audi about 6 times over the year but each time they could not find a fault. The fault got worse and the gear change light started flashing and at times I could not use manual gear change at all or get reverse gear. I booked it into Audi Poole who find the fault at last, but 3 months out of warranty. They agree it was the same problem but say that because it was diagnosed out of warranty I must pay toward cost of repair. I have contacted Audi UK customer services who seem to have concurred with Poole Audi. Do you think this is fair or right?

No, if you reported a recurrent fault within warranty on numerous
occasions and they did not fix it, they should not turn round and say they can fix if for cash now the car is out of warranty. Use www.motorcodes.co.uk to settle the matter between you and the dealer.
