Gears won't engage after I rebuilt the gearbox. What's the problem?

I had a new clutch and flywheel fitted, then had the gearbox rebuilt. Four weeks later the clutch is going straight to the floor and the gears won't engage. What's the issue?

Reads like a problem with release bearing or clutch linkage.
