Warrant beaty

Is there an explanation why any work carried out under both manufacturer's or aftermarket warranty never comes with a receipt or written evidence? If work is carried out in this manner, is it guaranteed for a minimum period? Being a cynic I assume it is done so there is little or no comeback if a further problem arises I would like this to be changed. Also I would like to propose that you add Witham Garage of Melton Mowbray to your Good Garage Guide. Excellent service and prices.

Because warranty work isn't paid for, the only warranty on it is the original warranty on the car. So if the car had a 3-year warranty and a new alternator was fitted at month 30, that alternator would only be warranted for a further 6 months. Had you paid for it, it might have been warranted for 12 months or 24 months, depending on manufacturer.
