V62 bomber

Two years ago I accepted a job in the UK, moving myself and family from Belgium to the Midlands. I have been happy with our new life in the UK, but recently I have experienced a very frustrating and upsetting situation with the DVLA. In November of last year I bought a Citroen Xantia wagon. The person selling could not provide the V5 needed, so on my behalf a third party wrote to the DVLA requesting a replacement of this document. Two weeks ago I phoned the DVLA to tax my car and was told that the car never changed ownership and they also claimed the letter sent in November never reached them. I explained the seller had moved out of the country, but that I did have a signed bill of sale from him. I also explained that the third party who dealt with the DVLA paperwork on my behalf, and who is still living locally, had requested the transfer of ownership over 7 months ago. I was told by the DVLA not to drive the car anymore for about 6 weeks; until a new logbook is issued. I went to DVLA Oxford and paid the £25 to receive a new logbook. I have also sent a registered letter explaining my situation (needing my car to get to work), a letter from the party who applied for the logbook many months ago, along with funds making another attempt to pay my car tax. This situation has made it impossible for me to commute to work in a legal way, and parking my car for 6 weeks would leave me with no transportation to my employment, resulting in losing my job. To date I have had no response to my registered correspondence with the DVLA. I do not know any thing further I can do. Can you advise me in any other possible ways to resolve this matter?

What you and the third party did was completely wrong. But by visiting the local DVLA office you have done all you can to speed
the process up. There is no sensible reason for them to be so obstructive. DVLA employees aren’t all like that. But socialist administrations always breed some nasty quasi civil servant bullies. The entire country is suffering from penalty culture that does nothing for anyone apart from provide employment for the otherwise unemployable, who then pay taxes rather than live off ours. When 60% of the working population are directly or indirectly employed by government that’s a big anchor for the SS Great Britain to be dragging.
